Gurdians of life youth group a youth initiative group with interests in environment has embarked on an ambitious plan to plant as many trees in every part of Tharaka. The quest that the group has is to motivate everybody to plant a tree in a aim of making Tharaka a better place. It has engaged youths from different parts of Tharaka nithi county in partnership with governmental and non- governmental organizations . Public institutions has been given the first priority before moving to homesteads in an aim of curving the brunt of deforestation. In its elaborate national plan, gurdians of life will partner with any individual or organizations with the same idea . The initiative group is looking to kill two birds with one stone, conserving the environment by planting trees and ensuring that the youth generating income by engaging in the tree planting activities. “We see sustainable tree growing as having a significant impact on both poverty alleviation and the environment,” statement by Ken munene The Chairman Guardians of life.
